Crowdsourcing is
a process of obtaining ideas, information, funds and services etc. via
collective contributions from a large group of online community using
Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The role of
crowdsourcing in the growth of e-Governance is discussed in this paper. This paper explores the utilizations of
crowdsourcing by the Government of India (GOI) in various public activities
like education, agriculture and defense etc. The crowdsourcing can be
categorized into crowd wisdom, crowd creation, crowd funding and crowd voting
applications etc. The important crowdsourcing applications are MyGov Platform and election manifesto and Bharat
Ke Veer platform are discussed in details. Tools and Technologies are used
for providing crowdsourcing
services are also explained. The issues in crowdsourcing
like manage large scale of workers and no contract are also mentioned. The
scope of crowdsourcing in social implications is also included. It is concluded
that Crowdsourcing
can enables people to active participation in national policies planning.
